So I just listed a Girl's Sleeveless Top with "Criss-Cross" back and it was flagged as "Hate Speech" as the AI-bots consider it a swastika. Not sure who is doing the programming, but they don't seem too bright. This is getting to become very tiresome.
No kidding it's getting tiresome. I just had a Vogue magazine that was deactivated (after listing 5 in a row) and reactivated about 3hrs later. WTH?
Crazy thing is search even auto-completes criss cross. Sigh....
This would be funny if it were not so ridiculous!
It will probably be released. I know people find it tiresome but bots cannot be too highly refined as it would lead to even more abuse.
THe word criss cross can be associated with the symbol used by the Nazis.
You could sub interlacing or openwork for the term.
Even though it may have been flagged for "hate speech", but was it really because of the new rules about children in photographs? Certain poses are now not allowed.
Or because it had strings that could be a choking hazard?

None of the above.
I have several items that have been deactivated for no violation other than AI-bot error and never reinstated. These items get moved to another selling platform. If Etsy's AI-bot doesn't improve it's a good assumption that every word in the dictionary will eventually have takedown potential. Most of my baby items are being listed elsewhere, I'm too bothered with it here.
