It seems I was the unfortunate target of a BOT attack on two of my listings, which were removed for allegedly violating Creativity Standards. I've been selling on Etsy since 2011 and have never felt this level of frustration. This isn’t just a hobby for my wife and me—this is our livelihood, and we’ve built a successful business on Etsy.
Initially, one listing was removed, and about four days later, another was taken down. With the second removal, Etsy also revoked our Star Seller status permanently and issued a final warning, stating that any further violations would lead to shop suspension. Receiving such a severe response after just two infractions is overwhelming, especially as business owners with employees depending on us.
I attempted to reach Etsy through the Help feature but only received an automated response insisting they were right and I was wrong. When I called Etsy support, I was assigned a case number and told to expect an email update. That was two weeks ago, and I’ve heard nothing since.
In response, we placed our shop on vacation mode to investigate the issue and made adjustments to some of our listings. Despite multiple emails and calls to Etsy support, we have yet to receive a single response. I can’t help but wonder how Etsy would react if the roles were reversed. Right now we are just living in fear that at any moment our livelihood will be taken from us and we have no recourse. Any help would be appreciated.
Another website has stolen your photos.
It is most likely that a wholesale site like Temu, Aliexpress or Shein has stolen your photos. They target Etsy picks and best sellers.
Etsy has programmed bots to look for matches when a listing renews or is freshly listed.
Reverse image search the images from the listings that have been removed to find the thieves. Then you can go about having those photos removed.
Contact Etsy and explain your situation. With proof of removals and more proof that you handmade the items, they may let you relist them.
Good luck.
How do you contact Etsy? I've tried email, phone.
There is no phone number for Etsy. Anything you find online will be a scam.
You can open a ticket through the Help Center.
https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new?segment=selling
https://help.etsy.com/hc/en-gb/requests/new?segment=selling#issue_missing_listing-contact_select
It can take days, if not weeks, to hear back.
When you do, it will most likely just be a useless copy/paste of a guess at what your problem is.
Reply back to that same email saying I STILL NEED HELP.
Keep replying and updating that same thread. DO NOT start multiple tickets, or you will just be sent to the back of the queue again.
You can check and update your Support Tickets here:
Whatever happens with Etsy, you should consider setting up your own website so you’re not reliant on Etsy alone for your business, if it’s indeed your sole support. Etsy has become far too unpredictable and opaque, between bot takedowns and no support service for sellers, or even any clues about why listings are removed or shops shut.
Keep responding to the SAME help ticket, saying you still need help. Don’t open new ones, which will cause older ones to be closed and effectively you’ll never get an answer. I’m so sorry you’re going through this and hope you get more information soon.
Doing a reverse search for a couple of your boards, I do see them being sold on a site that I assume is yours since it has the same name as your Etsy shop. I could find no info that would confirm that it's also your website tho, meaning no name, address, actual location, just that the phone's area code matches your state.
Since both sites use the same main photos, the bot might've removed your listings thinking you were reselling.
I did find one of the OP's photo on what looks like a scrapper / scam site.
jpsazamgarh.com
... and one of the Etsy Picks is also on
adassahhealthresources.com that redirects to a scam site
rriioiiuiop.top/?cid=215
Yes, That is our website. I'll look into that. Thanks
Confused! C/p'd that site and it brought me to a public school's site located in India. The address bar was exactly the same spelling as your inactive link. Saw no surfboards for sale; just photos of schoolkids. ??
eta - since you added a little more to your post, I'm referring to the jps.... site.
It looks like those sites are redirecting multiple times.
All scams!
That .top site is definitely shady.
The OP needs to reverse image search those images and catch the crooks.
Perhaps one of the Mods can step in and elevate your ticket.
You need to do a reverse photo search to find where they are.
If you have an email from Etys, reply back that you still need help. The first email is always generic. You have to be persistent. If you want them to call you, you have to provide Etsy with your phone number.
I know you have a website but the bots look at sites like Temu and Shein. You need to file a DMCA with those sites to remove your photos and then let Etsy know.
So am I to understand that I painstakingly take pictures of all my products, they get stolen and used on scam webites and I am the one that gets punished. Small business is not for the faint of heart.
There is no point in contacting etsy until you do DCMA takedowns for those sites using your stolen photos. Provide etsy with that proof, and they'll act eventually.
And if you have your own website using the same photos, consider either taking new photos for your site, or using secondary photos.
I would also add your website to your About section links, so etsy KNOWS you have your own website.
What's the best way to do a reverse image search? Just tried google with no results other than my website.
There is Tin Eye
We have the same issue during Christmas for our bath bomb listing: Creativity Violation ticket, no star seller, final warning and automatic reply about they are right. And weird one day the star seller just get back and the violation listing is still there... If others stole our photo, at least they should check about the year of that case, we have started selling the bath bombs since 2021 and they just told us we are against the Creativity Violation because a case submitted in 2025, which is ridiculous.
We already been prepared if we are blocked due this silly error, then we might open a new shop, or just go to other platforms.
