Confirm seller info - please help

I have been trying to fill in my confirm seller info for several days. My shop is in Montenegro, Europe. The tax number I have is not accepted. I am star seller and I have a chat that should help me. Madutim, the chat froze after a short conversation and I can't use it anymore. The chat operator said that he would forward my problem to another team who would notify me by email. Already on the third day, the chat is frozen, there is no email notification, and I only have 6 more days to complete the procedure, because then my shop will be put on vacation, i.e. inactive.
Can someone help me solve this problem. I would be grateful.

Did you set your shop up as a Montenegro shop when you started out, or as a different country, so you could be paid in a different currency?

you can't open a new shop from Montenegro

some countries etsy doesn't operate from at all any more - so when you try to put Id in, it doesn't work

were you set up to be paid in Euros to paypal?

log a call with etsy,

your country is not dollars,

you may have set it up, behind the scenes, to be a different country, when you started.

It wouldn't have mattered then, it does now.

ask etsy, what country your shop was originally set up to be (you can't see that, only eysy can)

Unfortunately, I do not have the ability to communicate with Etsy. I have no right to a phone call, my SS chat is not working. I'm trying to find a way to contact Etsy, but everything is going round and round, time is passing and my problems are increasing and my shop has less and less chance of survival.

Thank you for your efforts, but this also leads to my chat which is not responding. I can write and write but there is no answer. The chat is blocked from their side. I assume that this happens to those of us who have a problem with taxpayer ID, because there is no help for it. I am very unhappy, I don't sleep at all and I feel depressed. Thank you once again for trying to find a way out for me.

I followed your advice and set Euro instead of USD.

you can't change the currency you are paid in, only the currency you sell in,

If you are paid in USA dollars, you probably weren't set up as a montenegro shop in the background, initially

if you can use the e-mail link above, ask them what country your shop was set to, on setup.

When I opened my shop in 2019, I did not have to enter any information. It was not mandatory to write your personal information (name, country, city). Then I just entered my nickname and the name of the shop. Now I left my personal data for the first time.

you would have to have had a country set somewhere, not sure if it defaulted to a country, if your info was not put in,

I would love to ask Etsy, but communication with them is blocked. I still have 5 days to complete my identification. Maybe some higher power will help me.

I’m sorry you have to go through this. I have no idea if this helps, but I saw someone mention not to put the tax ID in the main information field unless it’s a vat company code, but put it in the additional information section. Maybe worth a try. Sorry about your situation!

Montenegro is not a country that is in the "additional taxpayer ID" section

so they can't enter it there.

which is why I think there may be a problem at the back end with the country setup

Hello! I'm from Kazakhstan and I have the same problem. The store will go on vacation in 6 days, and I cannot leave my national tax number, Kazakhstan is not one of the countries that Etsy supports. Support does not respond to my requests.

Hi! I'm a Korean seller and I'm experiencing the same problem. I don't have the Etsy Payments option. My yellow banner is informing me that there are 4 days left. When I contacted them again, the chat didn't respond and the email didn't respond yet.

I have the same problem and I'm from China, my shop was opened in 2009 and now will be put on vacation within 24 hours. I've contacted Etsy help twice but no email reply from them. What can I do?

Hello, I have an ongoing issue about something and the chat is frozen now.  I did call and speak to a live person, and she said it is frozen because the issue I reported is still under investigation and the ticket is still open, so I can't bring up anything new with the chat window. 

I suggest you try to phone them or have them phone you (although I don't know if this is an option in your country).  I did this by clicking "Help Center" at the top of this page, then scrolling down to where it says "Contact Etsy Support", then click that you are a Seller, pick something and keep clicking until there is a grey window at the bottom asking if you still need more help.  Click that and it gives you the chance to have them call you.  It was less than a minute before I got a call.
