Closing open order that shipped
Hi there. I sold 2 items —the same thing —to a customer. But in the separate email notifications with the shipping labels only one showed the label. So I printed that twice, and paid twice. But the one order is still showing as open. How do I close this one out? Do I need to contact support? If so, any advice on the best way to do this?

Two different orders of 2 of the same thing in the same order? You bought 2 different label? Your post is not very clear about what happened.

Hi there. Thanks for replying! I had two orders for the same thing from the same person. I got two emails with a shipping label for each. But one was glitchy and I could not get it to open properly to print. So I ended up printing the label from the other email twice and shipping. But because the other label was never created, it never showed as being shipped. I was able to close the order by adding the tracking number from the one that did ship and marking it as shipped. Open to suggestions on this for the future. this is a hobby for me so I’m not exactly an Etsy whiz, as you can tell. Thanks again!

I'm not sure what you're saying. Are you using Order and Shipping in the Dashboard to print shipping labels?

You can simply go the open order and mark it as complete. If you have a tracking number put that in. If not, then you can leave that blank.

@WoodByWilkerson I think the confusion is your statement that you received 2 emails with a shipping label for each.
This isn’t normal for most of us. We might get an email notification of an order, but we have to go to Etsy or other shipping label seller to purchase the shipping labels. I suppose some providers might send those purchased labels by email, but Etsy and many just allow you to either print right after purchase or download.
Etiher way, by printing one label twice, you might find that one of them doesn’t get delivered, since they both were shipped with the same postage. (And certainly tracking might be confused.) It sounds like postage was purchased twice, so not really fraud. (But the shipper might disagree.)
In reality, everything will probably work out fine. However, in the future, make sure that you don’t use the same label twice.
