Check to see if your items show up in Etsy categories

So I had some time to look at one of my listings that hasn't seen any activity in ages. I decided to go look on Etsy marketplace and then choose the exact category that I picked with the listing. This particular item (30" x 30" modern child table set with 4 chairs) is listed under home and living<furniture<kid's furniture<desks, tables and chairs. Only 6 pages showed up with no filters chosen. My item was no where to be seen. I then decided to go to filters and put in star seller (as I am for now) and I would assume that there would be less pages of items, but to my surprise there were 23 pages. So my question is why would that be. I did notice that the 6 pages of items did have a certain look and theme. So is Etsy picking and choosing which ones show up in main category search (like just Etsy picks)? Let me know if this is happening to any of you.

I think I might have answered my own question. I did look at other categories and yes they are all Etsy picks on initial category chosen.

I noticed this some time back, that it looked like Etsy was "selecting" what showed up in categories. Everything seemed to have the same "Etsy Pick" look to them. I'm surprised you saw 23 pages though as I thought they had reduced search results down to just 20 pages. Maybe it's different with category based searches?

the 23 pages was after I put the filter search on. the initial look only had 6 pages, so assuming only 6 pages worth of Etsy picks for this particular category.
