We have an issue with Etsy changing a selected Shipping Carrier
We select our carrier (In most cases it is Canada Post)
We enter the tracking number and Etsy changes the shipping carrier (usually to Fedex) automatically giving the customer a wrong shipping carrier and not tracking the parcel properly.
It only happens on occasion but it happens often enough that it has moved our on time shipping rating to below the 95% required for star seller when we have never shipped late.
I am more concerned that the customers do not have accurate tracking information.
I am guessing the back end tries to automatically determine a Shipping carrier from the tracking number but in the case of Canada Post and Fedex it gets it wrong a lot of the time.
I have this exact same problem. I have caught it happening a few times and changed it back to Australia Post within the 3 day window. Recently I missed one, it still says FEDEX (which I have never used). I have lost my Star Seller rating because of this.
It is clearly a technical issue. I am so careful about checking the correct carrier when I enter tracking numbers and I have literally seen correctly inputted shipping information change to FEDEX on the completed orders page.
I wish someone from Etsy would reply to your post. I have emailed Etsy but they have not responded to me (it has been 5 days).
I have this issue, where Canada Post is linked to my profile and I am located in Australia.
I urgently need to change it to Australia Post but it is not allowing me to. I have emailed Etsy but no support.
This is an older post but I can't believe this has happened to me now 3 times on my main shop.
My photography lab always uses UPS.
Sept 2 my tracking grade dinged me for "no tracking" but yet it shows a UPS tracking number but the carrier says FedEx.
So now I have a "failing" grade.
I am in the US so this is not just happening to other countries.
