So, even tho it's not a perfect solution to winnow out all the irrelevant search results, I often will change search sort from relevancy to sort by Highest price. Well!!! This evening I noticed that regardless of WHAT sort option I chose, search results remained the same... same number of items, same items in the same order. The ONLY thing that changed when I changed sort from relevancy is the the "most loved" row across the top went away (the only good thing I noticed).
Anyone else seeing this? I can only hope that I caught etsy in the middle of an improvement to search and that this isn't a test to "prove" who knows what theory... ???
Hopefully you are in some kind of test!? I just did a search for something and got different results with the dropdown. I have to say, I do miss that highest and lowest prices only show a page or two at most. They used to show all the items in price order which was incredibly helpful, but I believe that went away a long time ago.
It's more likely a glitch rather than a test.
Whew! Appears to have been a glitch. I'm seeing different numbers now... and items re-sorted. Still... I sure wish etsy would fix search. At the very least, make ads actually RELEVANT to what's being searched for... not to mention showing RELEVANT listings first, before all the whatever it is other stuff etsy wants to show us.
*** ok, I'm done preaching to the choir ***
The sad part is that we know the trick of changing the sort to get more relevant results but 99% of our customers don't.
At one point I was looking at a store and their shipping price was totally missing. Didn't load.
