So I've been trying for a while to mention people using the @ symbol on Forums, but people have been saying that it doesn't notify them and there is no horizontal line underneath their names. I wonder if someone knows how to fix this?

@ChristmasIsLove Thank you for the advice! I do not have an ad blocker or virus program though.

It could be any extension. Those were examples.

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

@JustJoannaGoods how odd!  I don't recall ever seeing this come up before, and I live on the Forums!  Lol! In fact, we can usually @ and type in someone's screen name that isn't even in a thread, like when we need to alert one of the Admins.

@PillowDetails Cool! That's a good idea; maybe I should alert one of the Admins?

How to Resolve a Technical Issue – Etsy Help Here are some things to try. If it was working before and now it is not I'd try clearing my cache and cookies and restart my device..Ye Olde "turn it off and turn it on again".

I can @JustJoannaGoods  people in chrome, but not microsoft edge, so it must be a browser setting.

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I've tried it on at least 4 different computers and multiple browsers on each one.

Chrome is a nope.

Edge is a nope.

Safari is a nope.

Firefox is a nope.

I don't believe this is a browser issue. Nor is it a cache, cookie or extension issue. I think it's something not set up right in our accounts, but since I've changed anything possible in my settings, I don't think it's anything we can fix ourselves.

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

@audreytherese

I can do it from this account, on chrome,

but not from this account, in microsoft edge

So it's not an account setting

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

Ok then, since you're so sure it's not an account setting, why can't I do it from any browser on any computer?

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I don't know what the browsers have to be set up as,

but if it's an account thing, I wouldn't be able to do it, in 1 browser, but not the other, with the same account

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

Have you considered that we could be having a completely different issue than you? That ours is an account issue while yours is a browser issue?

Would it help to Subscribe to the thread?

I'm thinking not because this is @JustJoannaGoods 's thread, but there is an arrow next to Options at the top of the thread and you can choose "Subscribe".

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I just tried turning on tagging in my settings, still doesn't work though!  Very strange how it's only affecting certain people.  I've also now tried 3 different browsers and it didn't help.

Also, when someone posts in a different language, and underneath it gives you the option to translate to your own language - that never works for me either!

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

@giftedboxes  I'm not positive, but I think if you change your language to English (US) in your settings, it will translate for you.

Forum Avatar > My Settings > Preferences > Preference Options > Language, click drop down and choose English (US)

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I am able to @ people,  so I have copied my forum settings so that people who can’t @ are able to compare.  I don’t think the email settings have anything to do with it, so don’t change those if you like them the way they are. If I don’t list something, it means it’s not checked.  Hope this helps. I should also add that I use Firefox.

Re: Cannot @ people on forums

I did this on my computer, if you are on your phone, there is a box that says Preference Options that has a drop down that shows the choices.
