I inadvertently put through a purchase that I had been holding in my shopping cart. I immediately sent a help message to the seller, requesting the order be cancelled. That was 2 days ago. I did not hear back from her. Today, I got a message that the order had been shipped. I tried to contact Etsy for help, but their system says I can't get help until September 20th!! The same message says I can request help from them 48 hours after my help request to the seller if I haven't heard from her during that time.
Can anyone give me direction with this?
It is unfortunate that the seller did not act prior to shipping. However, does the seller accept cancellations? That should be in their policies. Since the item has shipped you will have to wait until it delivers. Does the seller have a return policy?
Hi. Thank you for your response. The seller does accept returns, but not cancellations. I'm not sure how that'll apply to my case. Any ideas?
Well @LotsaThingsForYou although I think the seller should have responded to you prior to shipping, if they don't accept cancellations then the outcome might not have made any difference. It is too late now for a cancellation anyway since the item has shipped. You will need to do a return once you receive it if you don't want the item.
There's no point in involving etsy. If I were you, I would tell the seller I am refusing the package and demand a refund. Once it's delivered, you can open a case (i.e., contact etsy). Even if they have a no-returns policy, if it wasn't personalized you can cancel it. If etsy says no, go to your credit card for resolution. It's crazy that the seller didn't honor your request.
Thanks for that idea. I didn't know I had the option to refuse it. Thank you. Appreciated.
