Can't Send Etsy Messages

Anyone else not able to send messages to their customers? I had no problem sending messages earlier today but all of the sudden after I hit send I get the dreaded red bar at the top of my screen that says "hmmmm something went wrong" if problem persists contact support.

I've closed out of Etsy and reopened it, and tried 2 different browsers. All give me the same red bar at the top. I contacted support and they have no idea why its happening

I was unable to send & got the red bar too. But now my red bar is gone & the SEND button is greyed out completely. I sent messages earlier today ok.

I'm unfortunately having this issue as well (and I'm sure MANY people are at the moment). Sending messages via the Etsy seller app works right now, so definitely use the app for now until Etsy fixes this issue.

i have the same issue not abel to send messages to buyer even try to use etsy seller app same issue with red font any idea

About a min ago, it let me send a message.  Then I went to send another message and back to the red bar and now the send button is greyed out as well

Same here!  But I just realized that it is only happening when I try to send message to an order that is "Completed" (purchased postage).  I can still message on orders that show in my "New" queue.

so did you try another way if you did and you succeeded to send message please share my customer will think  that ignore them messages this is very bad for business

Same issue here! I sent a reply to a buyer a few minutes ago, no problem. But when I try to reach out and initiate a first message through my orders page I get the red bar up top.

that might explain why I was able to send a message a few min ago. It wasn't the first time I'd reached out to that partiuclar buyer. Anyone I'm reaching out to first time the red bar pops up

I still have the greyed out SEND button on the orders page. But I can actually go to the convo page & paste the buyer's name & send a message that way. I just tested a message by sending to my other shop & that seems to work.

Same here! My Etsy app on my phone will not update either. I just got a new sale and it won't show up on the phone. Went to my computer to download the order and I can't message my customer that I got her order. It worked an hour ago.

I just started a chat and sent this information to an Etsy agent. he confirmed there is an issue
