So what happened?
In short I had a 1 Star review Aug 22nd So I helped the customer who then changed their review to 5 Stars August 31st but etsy did not change the review stats for this order till Sept 2nd. When they updated the stats they updated all star seller record history but not the star seller badge itself.
Why?
The review was changed the during their quoted review time period? My guess is they are incorrectly advertising the days that are actually calculated for star seller badge. It is actually most likely using data till the 30th of each month and not the final day to save complexity of dealing with changing global time zones.
I provide the best customer service I can. I wish etsy would fix this or maybe refund my seller fee's for being gipped. I dont know. Something better than prefabricated responses .
@TropicalGalaxyLLC: Star Seller stats are in UTC not your time zone, so what was August 31 to you may have been September 1 to Star Seller. There is a seven hour difference between Pheonix AZ and UTC.
@TropicalGalaxyLLC The last two days of the month do not count for the next month. They will count for the following month. So something changed August 31 will not be counted for September. August halted either the 29 or 30 ths. This happens every month.
The change will be recognized for October.
etsy calculates the star seller badges that appear on our dashboard, once a month
it will be fixed on the next calculation, at the end of this month
if they changed it 31st august - it may not have been 31st August UTC time, when etsy does the calculation
5pm your time on 31st , is 1st Sept UTC

Thankyou that makes sense, I understand the UTC and that may be the most of it, however Sept 1st was also on a holiday weekend here in the us. I noticed my Star Seller stats changed twice for Sept 1st and Sept 2nd as it processed the changes. September 2nd could actually be Sept 3rd UTC time. The gate swings both ways I guess.
