Multiple times today I have shared the copy and share link on various listings and none of the links are working for customers.. It is either a blank screen or it's just going to my shops home page and not the actual listing.
"not working for customers"?
For the last few weeks, when I go to my listings, click the little gear icon ("Manage this Listing") for the drop down menu, then click the "share" (share this listing) option and "copy" the link to that listing, then paste the link in an Etsy Message for my customer, the customer comes back and tells me that the link doesn't take her to a specific item but to a "bunch of items." This is has happened several times now so I came to the Forums to see if anyone else is having this issue. This post is the closest I could find. I'm hoping if I resurrect this question with more information, perhaps someone can help. I use this function all the time. It was created years ago so that we could share links to our items with our current customers easily and quickly when they ask for a specific item and it's a huge time saver. But now I have had to revert back to the old way of sharing listings which requires leaving my Shop Manager, finding the item in my shop and copying and pasting the URL into our conversation. This works for the customer but it takes much more time to do.
I think the share function for listings in our Shop Manager is malfunctioning.
same issue here
Same exact thing is happening to me! I contacted Etsy about it. Hoping they will fix it soon. It is very strange because when I click on the link in the message it takes me to the right place but not the customer. It seems like it started ever since they discounted fees when sharing links, but if the links don't work I imagine the seller fee discount isn't going to apply either. It is frustrating! In order to share my links I have to find them on my shop in the public view and copy&paste from the address bar now.

I had a long chat session with Etsy Help last night. I sent screen shots and gave detailed explanations. The representative said he would pass on all the information to the technical people and they would communicate with me through email. I don't expect to hear anything until next week since it's the weekend but, fingers crossed, maybe they can fix this. I didn't have any idea how much I used the "copy and share" link on a daily basis until it stopped working. [I'm posting this on both threads about this issue.]
DUPLICATED FROM THE OTHER THREAD ON THIS ISSUE:
I'm giving up this quest. I've been advised to ask my customers to do the technical troubleshooting steps ... clear cache, switch browsers, etc. The customers who told me about this issue are not technically savvy and I feel sure nothing would come of inconveniencing them in this way. I'm just going to let this drop and continue to use my workaround ... using the URL at the top of a specific listing. I've sped up this process by keeping a tab open on my shop's front page so I can quickly search for the listing I want and copy and paste the URL into my message with the customer. This is working even though it's time consuming. At least my customers aren't confused by getting my entire shop when they only wanted one specific listing. This will have to do for now.
I'll keep an eye on this and the other thread in case someone comes up with a better, and faster, workaround or, even better, to hear news of a resolution to this issue. Fingers crossed!
@HorizonCottage if you share in Etsy messages it won’t work at all. It might take the customer to the listing but you won’t get credit for it.
Same. This is a very annoying problem. Also, I still cannot delete or stop sending my thank you coupons. It’s been over a month! They just keep telling me to clear my cache, try a different device, etc. The seller support is extremely frustrating. Fingers crossed that they fix these issues soon, good luck!
Same situation here and it's making me crazy because of course I need to save as much as I can. It always brings the customer to my shops homepage and not to the item I am sharing. It seems to be all the customers have been on their phones. One customer got it to work by using her laptop so I'm thinking its an Etsy App issue, not the website when on a desktop/laptop.
