Bug in star seller algorithm
The star seller algorithm considers even incomplete orders and flags your score down! This is a serious bug as it has tarnished our brand value and impacted our badge for the NeXT month! It has reduced our on time dispatch rating which is totally senseless! Our ratings should be reinstated back. We are loosing out our badge for the next month because of this bug!
Moreover to add to beauty Etsy has deducted transaction and renewal fees for an incomplete order!
Sellers beware!

Re: Bug in star seller algorithm
If the order is incomplete, you have to completed it. It would count against you. That is the whole point of the program. You need to complete your orders.

Re: Bug in star seller algorithm
Of course it does. Either ship the order or refund and cancel. Don’t leave the buyer with nothing.

Re: Bug in star seller algorithm
I don't understand. Why wouldn't incomplete orders be counted towards the total? Shipping on time is 1/3 of the score.
Could the OP possibly mean orders for which payment is still processing?

Re: Bug in star seller algorithm
What do you mean by “incomplete orders”?
In programming, a “bug” is something that doesn’t work as intended. Likely not the case here.

Re: Bug in star seller algorithm
I'm confused as well. @TheFunkydelicStore what do you consider an "incomplete " order?

Re: Bug in star seller algorithm
No matter what stage you're in with processing your orders, you need to either ship on time or extend the shipping date. The star seller bots don't care what we're doing to get our orders out, they just measure whether we've shipped on time or not. If we have not shipped an order on time (no matter whether complete or not) we have not shipped an order on time and we get a "NO."

Re: Bug in star seller algorithm
Whatever the issue, if you believe your 'brand value' is dependent on the Etsy Star Seller System, I would rethink that notion.
Having had/not had it in two shops I seriously don't think it carries anywhere near the weight you are giving it.

Re: Bug in star seller algorithm
I wouldn't worry at all,
I lost the star seller badge for 3 months, due to a 4* review, then it came back,
It did nothing for sales, brand value, or anything else, it really not worth thinking about,
someone at etsy just likes throwing nonsensical badges around like confetti,
don't worry about the badges
.... I'd be more worried about scooby doo, garfield etc

Re: Bug in star seller algorithm
This was my first month without the star seller and coincidentally, I'm sure, the best month I've had since August 2021.
