Hi,
I received an order for Belgium and on the customer's Etsy receipt the VAT was calculated on the shipping amount only, but VAT should also have been charged on the product. That would mean that when the package arrived in Belgium, customs would charge the customer the missing VAT on the product PLUS a €17.50 customs fee. I cancelled the order and advised Etsy customer service who are raising the issue with the next level of support.
This hasn't happened with previous orders for Belgium so it may be a recent glitch. Not sure if anyone else has had this issue with orders from Belgium or other EU countries, just thought I'd give a heads up.
