Been listing new items today and the color shift on my product photos is really extreme, there's either a shift to CMYK or it just completely desaturates my edited photos.
Anyone else experiencing this today?
Sent an email to Etsy's customer service and they said it was a known issue without an ETA on fixing it
That usually indicates that you are uploading images with an embedded colour profile, they are not sRGB.

I haven't made any changes in my editing since opening my shop and they uploaded correctly on my socials and my other (non Etsy) storefront - so I'm scratching my head.
I tried to re-upload photos from older listings that the colors were correct and it also is creating a color shift, even though it's the same photo I used a year ago without issue.
Etsy have a histroy of stripping out the colour profile info during upload, without doing the necessary colour corrections.
You won't always see the colour shift when opening the files elsewhere because those other websites and software are honouring the embedded colour profile info in the file.
This has not been a major topic on the forum for a couple of years, so Etsy may have been doing the conversions properly for that period. In that case I am guessing that they messed their code up again while undertaking their incessant tinkering with the site.
Alternatively your editing software or camera settings could be reset by a software update, it happens.
The internet standard colourspace is sRGB. Etsy is not alone in assuming sRGB for all image files and ignoring embedded colour profiles. Even some browsers and photo editing websites do not recognise embedded colour profiles. Therefore always make sure that images for general internet viewing are sRGB.
Check and recheck the colourspace from camera through editing to upload.
Also check that you have not changed your viewing device into night display mode, that's been known occasionally.

Checking my files, they are sRGB and as I said, I even tested it with an older listing from a year ago and uploading the same photo I used in the original listing and it's causing that issue.
So I think it's just a bug on Etsy's side right now with their uploader
Thank you for this useful information.

Do your images have an embedded colour profile? It's possible Etsy are now ignoring an embedded colour profile while previously they were using it, or vice versa.
Want to send me one by email and I'll check it?
Don't try sending through Etsy's message system as it butchers the images.
You'll find my email on the shop page, at the bottom, in Seller Details.
