I have had 2 separate customers get the "UH-OH! There's something not quite right in the URL" error when trying to check out. They are trying to buy my stuff. HELP!!
@GracieDesigns: There are quite a few threads about this issue in this forum. You might want to do a search for the latest information but right now there does not seem anything sellers can do.
I looked quickly. I will take more time to fish through. I did also check Reddit, and the fact that it is unresolved is concerning.
Yesterday Etsy did have some site issues which have all been resolved. If the sales are still pending, it may help to reach out to your customers and share this with them.
I had a customer message me with this problem last week. I made her a custom listing and she was able to purchase that as a workaround. I'm very concerned about this glitch as my conversion has been abnormally low lately and even just a few customers unable to checkout could be costing me significantly.
Yes, this is my concern as well. If people cannot check out, that is a huge problem.
yes i have had a few buyers in the last few days saying they could not checkout as the site just kept freezing, i did put a post about it yesterday but most thought it was maybe the problem on the buyers side, but now i have seen your post i know it was not, i had a buyer this morning and took them a number of attempts to check out, they had to keep coming off the site and going back in until it finally stopped crashing, and looking at my stats today and no sales properly since Sunday i am thinking there really is a major problem with the site, i have had only 3 visits today on the Etsy search which is incredibly low!
i just had 2 orders come in... so maybe it is fixed?
i think it depends on what they are using, i had 2 orders yesterday but maybe they were using the App and not the actual website, my buyer sent me a screen shot on what they are seeing, and when they put all the details in it then just does nothing and crashes, and he only kept trying because his wife wanted the necklace for her birthday, just how many buyers are going to keep trying like that, not many.
I just had a message saying they had a problem with Etsy and could I sell the item to them via Instagram, I thought it was possibly a scam and said I could only do business through Etsy, maybe they did have an issue after all, I don't have IG and would not have taken it off Etsy but it is still potentially a lost sale.
@OwlAlwaysKnit its really not great, did they try and buy from the Website or off the App?
To be honest I am not sure, as they wanted to take the sale off Etsy I didn't really want to engage with them, I think I may just reach out and say there is a technical problem and hope they try again.
i hope they do too, i have just has a big sale and just asked them, all though i felt cheeky asking, if they had bought off the App or the Website, still waiting for a reply.
Wish I had read about this sooner and not jumped to the wrong conclusion, I did see your post yesterday but thought it was a problem on the buyers end with their card, fingers crossed they come back.
I have been having this issue for the past 4 weeks. I 've had at least 10 people reach out and I needed to create a custom order for them, 2 from today alone (11/10). The problem is the ones who don't reach out and simply go elsewhere. I wish Etsy would address (and fix the issue).
