Automatic tags, all my items tagged as gifts under 30 USD

Sorry if this has been reported before. My new listings today, all had about 20 automatic tags, most of which are gift, gift for mother sister parents couples husband girlf friend boy friend etc ....

Why not but all of them are tagged as "gift under 30 usd" which they are not. 

I haven't found a way to remove them.

I think the OP might be referring to the categories and not tags.

I remember someone posting about this.

yes one of  my items had the notification under the category that it would be listed in the following categories:  gift under 30, gift for mom, sister, girlfriend, gift for husband, gift for boyfriend, etc, and the item was a pair of pearl and crystal victorian style earrings.

Hi : ) sorry, in fact it's under categories (what the item is) so on the app I choose "platter" , and home / kitchen / table / platter will appear as usual, and the about 20 new "tags" including the under 30 usd

for a pair of my butterfly earrings I chose the category:  drop and dangle earrings.  If I go into the listing to Edit, this is the message under the category section:

Shoppers will find this item in all of these categories:

• Jewelry
• Earrings
• Dangle & Drop Earrings
• Gifts
• Gifts Under $30
• Gifts for Her
• Gifts for Girlfriend
• Anniversary Gifts
• Gifts for Him

Oh, please. This is Etsy.  "Shoppers will find this item..." is a bit of a credulity stretch  with that useless mess they currently call a search.

sorry but my earrings are not housewarming gifts, and if I pay for ads and that listing shows up and gets clicked on by a curious person, then it's a waste of money.  This is so general and non targeted, helping to really blow through your ads budget.

If the seller themselves could click which additional gift categories / gift tags the item fits into, it would be a great feature. But this way it is totally nonsensical.

I just looked at one of my bracelets with a price range of $196 - $256. It has the category Gifts under $30.

Excuse me? In what universe does this make sense? Even my 3-year-old son knows the difference between under and over 30.

@DesertChains these "tags" in categorie, appear before you have even set up your price in the listings.

I’m aware of the process, but it leads to the bigger question: Why is Etsy adding price categories when price information is not yet available?

Much like the beta pricing tool, results are based on incomplete information, thus producing incorrect results.

Hi, It was added to all my listing new several categories connected with gifts. My products are I two categories choosing by me and each of them was added some others gift category but not the same ones.

And what more -  I have  new attributes with note:

" Material Optional Select up to 5"   You can choose some but not textile or fabric (I have fabric all products)

next:

“Primary fabric type Optional

Anything you select will appear on the listing page, replacing previously added materials."

"Secondary fabric type Optional

Anything you select will appear on the listing page, replacing previously added materials.”

I don’t know if this help to improve sale, but I know my shop is good material to make all experiments. All the tests I read about on the forum, was performed on my shop.

I was looking for information about additional categories earlier but I couldn't find the previous thread. Also strange. Now I used the link to read about.

yes some of mine have automatic things listed like:

personalized gift.

but i have never personalized anything in my shop.

This is kind of like the spam pages Google frowns on, where people try to get clicks by including lots of irrelevant words and no useful info.

Could Etsy please stop making search worse?  When items fit every category, that makes the category system useless.

@MouseGarden Exactly. Try searching for Gifts under $30. I got 29 million+.
