Taking pictures with IOS 15.4 and save it my Windows 10 file system. When I open in Windows 10, it appears correctly and attaching to other email attachments it's fine, but Etsy messaging flips it sideways. It appears that Etsy app is ignoring the EXIF metadata orientation.
This has been happening for at least a month.
It started when Etsy changed the formatting of the About Me slide shows to only show a corner of the slide show images.
Etsy did something to the message and About Me image formatting that appears to be a permanent issue and not a test.
Ugh. Trying to talk with ETSY technical team is impossible. This is a major pain. You can't even save oriented sideways so that when attached they are righ-side up - it still flips them on their side.
This flipping issue happened 2 days ago, not yesterday, but again today!! I did nothing differently!! Soooooooooo frustrating when trying to send images of custom orders to customers for approval!!!!! I'm out of patience with this!!!!
My work around:
When the window opens for you to choose an image, right click on the photo you want. The pop up menu will appear, choose rotate left. The image will rotate left. The click again, rotate right. THEN upload.
I always have to do this, or Etsy will randomly flip the image.
I’m going to try this, thanks for the info, PlatypusDream!
Hey platypusDream:
At the risk of sounding umm…dumb, can you right click on iPhone?
Thanks,
jan
