Since GA allows us to see more than Etsy stats, I doubt it. Etsy has been reducing the data it gives us for years now, so not upgrading would be another way to limit sellers' access to the truth.

I'm sure you have access to senior Etsy staff that you could ask the question.

What truth do you think Etsy does not want us to have access to?  Granted I'm not a huge stats person knowing that stats are regularly slanted to the bias of the asker.  So I take any stats with a grain of salt.

@ArtDollsbyJD  LOL I have the same access to staff as anyone else, which is not at all. What are you insinuating? 

Etsy has removed all sorts of stats over the years, such as location, older stats, and some individual listings stats. They refuse to provide app search stats except for iOS which are a minority.

They also don't code many things that they used to for GA, which is a clear signal they don't want us seeing those things. GA is particularly useful for tracking Etsy's ad spend for Offsite Ads, which they 100% don't want us seeing; that's why they don't even separate Offsite Ads stats from organic search engines stats on Etsy any more (a separation we used to get). It's impossible to evaluate your SEO without these things. They don't want us to know how to manage our traffic at all.

@cindylouwho2   I thought the same thing. It will be so much easier (and convenient) for Etsy to NOT upgrade to GA4 just to keep us in the dark. Or maybe even try to make money off it by offering it as an "ad-on" feature for a price!

I tried to get the G4 connected to Etsy last week & couldn't get it to work.  I thought I was doing it wrong.  At least now I know it wasn't me.

I was looking forward to using the new G4 too. 

Well that stinks that Etsy won't let me see more data on my shop.

@AmyDsCrochet you can still use GA until next July, just not GA4. Switch to UA.
