Are we being scammed?

Hi

We have had several messages (all in German) saying that they clicked on 'Buy Now' and got an Etsy message saying they need our email address to complete the payment. 

Is that normal?

Our shop is new and we have not had a sale yet.

It seems fishy, but even when we try to send them our email address, it doesn't work.

What is going on?

Anyone have any idea?

Definite scam.  Sadly, there've been many threads about it, even sadder, there've been several that followed through and lost a lot.

They mostly target new sellers, counting on them maybe not being overly familiar with the payment process, and also on the seller being so excited about a first sale they don't see all the red flags.

Yes, that's definitely a scam.

Your attempts to respond to their message are likely failing because Etsy has deleted their account due to suspicious activity.
