Anyone else notice that their results for Star Seller this month (JUNE) not consistent from the Shop Dashboard (actual badges awarded was one) to the Star Seller tab (stats shows that you should have earned them all) and the email (you have earned two customer service badges for June). Tried sorting this out with Customer Service via Chat to no avail, despite screenshots shared. They kept saying my stats showed I did not earn them for the previous period, so wasn't awarded them??? To which I kept replying that I wasn't referring to previous period, but the current period as per the dashboard. Anyone else? Would love some clarity if anyone has insights or can explain this phenomenon. Extra scary, as it seems every other person who does not meet Star Seller is being put on Reserve.
@ArtDollsbyJD yup. As I said, now I am aware, but I still don't have to agree or like it, not that Etsy cares one bit what makes sense or supports sellers, but that is why the forum is full of people looking for answers to policies, procedures - it often doesn't make sense for the sellers, but I am sure that Etsy has their reasons. The first time it came up for me here on Etsy. Thanks though. Have a great day!
@CraftyCornishMaids This is what I am reading and seeing on Etsy itself (see below) and to note, I am designated as a sole-proprietor status for my business in Canada, not an incorporated business, so therefore would not be designated as a "trader" and it does not specify selling to the UK, only selling to the EU :
I am the UK and can see sellers detail, it is law
if you change your shop to EU, or UK, bottom left, you will see them, for those who have entered them, I am in UK, and see everyone who has entered them
this is uk law for a trader
“trader” means a person acting for purposes relating to that person’s trade, business, craft or profession, whether acting personally or through another person acting in the trader’s name or on the trader’s behalf.
basically, if you are selling, trying to make money, you are a trader, and a sole trader, is definitely a trader
@CraftyCornishMaids I can see your perspective, but I am going to follow the guidelines outlined by Etsy, unless they otherwise communicate that I need to change it. What I see and read on my shop page (as shared above and only refers to EU selling for these requirements) is the policy and procedure I will follow, but thanks so much for sharing your insights. Have a great day!
keep an eye on it, closely, as they are adding the UK into a lot of things, that were just EU,, don't rely on announcements, look at the legal pages
they just haven't caught up with editing job, which doesn't negate the legal requirement on shops
... and our credit cards back us, with our laws (they have to, to operate here) so we can always open a case with them, who recoup from etsy ... who can then recoup from shops

The information you provide there will only be visible to buyers who have set their location to an EU country or the United Kingdom. Etsy will not use the information you provide here to contact you.
If you’re a seller based in the European Union or the United Kingdom or you offer your listings to buyers there, the GDPR and parallel UK rules apply to you, which means you’re required to have a privacy policy for your shop. Make sure to carefully review the Privacy Policy section of the shop policies and carefully select the options which describe your intended use of any information you receive as the result of a transaction or any interaction with a prospective buyer.
Under the current regulation, if buyers properly exercise their right of return, sellers must issue a refund within 14 days of receiving the returned item or evidence that the item has been delivered back. Please note that in the EU and UK, the refund a seller provides in the event of a return is required to include the postage cost for the initial delivery to the buyer.
Yes! I had three new conversations in May that I dealt with IMMEDIATELY and my message stats went DOWN!
Think this may be the updated version.
