Annoying lag in text in new listings editor?

Curious if it's just me experiencing the most ANNOYING lag in text when typing in the new listings editor. Specifically when adding alt text to photos. Not only does it lag, but it backspaces all my spaces unless I type super super slow.  I noticed this when I first tried the new editor months ago and I thought, "oh well, it's brand new, so it's glitchy" but here we are several months later and it still works like garbage. 

Anyone else, or am I experiencing some solo phenomenon?

I never use the new listing form due to its known glitches, but yes the lag is annoying, even within a browser using the old form (the backspace lag is the most annoying).

@TBQSC   There are very few glitches now with the new format.  There are some things that need to be added.  But I find the new listing format superior to the old one.

I've never not had issues with it... I'm starting to wonder if there is something up with my computer or browser- although everything is up to date so it really is a mystery headache

I use the new format all the time.  I prefer to the old.  I've never experienced lag time except when my ISP is acting up.  Otherwise everything goes just fine.

I've tried the new form a few times, but I am so used to the way the old form works and am comfortable with its workflow.  The new form seems out of "flow" (for lack of a better word, lol); things are in different places, and it seems there are areas missing and I either have to scroll up to find it or switch to the old form to find it.  I do like how the title shows at the bottom page on old form ... seeing this visual helps with adding tags.  I keep trying to use/like the new form ... I'll get there eventually, maybe!

@TBQSC I'm with you, I find myself scrolling up and down a dozen times to see what my title looks like while adding tags. I guess, like all things, we'll get used to it with time!

The Alt text lag is annoying. I have a lot of Alt text examples saved in Word and I just copy and paste to get around it.

I'm using Firefox on a pc.

YES! Big delays. I've used the feedback option over a dozen times on this. Firefox, Windows. The lag is so bad I always use the older version. I keep testing it and it keeps slowing me down

Yes! Happens to me every single time I enter alt text. It slows me down considerably and I always have to go back and correct something because it misses space bar and runs words together due to the lag. Please, ETSY, fix this!

Yep I have this exact problem too! The only work around is to type super slow which is really time consuming. I spend more time putting the spaces back in that Etsy alt text seems to run together. The space is there for a split second then it’s gone

When I tried it the lag for me was I had to wait for all the photos to load before I could continue to the next/text page. "Ain't nobody got time for that". The old lister you can be completing the listing while the photos load (at a ridiculously slow pace compared to loading pix on Ebay but faster than the "new" way)

It is not necessary to use the Edit button for photos.
You can do everything the same as the old form by clicking straight into the individual photo boxes, including loading multiple photos then scrolling to a different area while they load.

The only reason I have found for using the Edit button is to add Alt-text.

If you have no photos loaded just click on the text box "+Add up to 10 photos and 1 video" to start, or else click and drag straight into that text box.

@DaysofYoreTreasures They must have changed something. When it first came out I tried it and it made me wait until the photos loaded and the description was on the next page which you couldn't get to until the photo page loaded. So I quit using it.

Yes, I think they have done quite a bit of work on it since the early days.
I don't think we have any chance of stopping Etsy from retiring the old form so this will be all we have soon.

This happens to me too.  I have tried to use the new listing form but always go back to use the old because it TAKES FOREVER FOR ME TO TYPE A LISTING.  It’s extremely annoying, I type really fast so I cannot do work this way.  How am I going to work? 

It’s been doing it since they started testing the new listing form and I have given feedback about it probably 30 times when it asked me why I wanted to use the old one.  Is there a fix for this?  Is it my browser?  It does it both in Safari and Chrome.

Same with me - super slow, irritating as heck!  It's supposed to "save time" according to etsy, but takes MORE time...  I keep changing back to the old version and will until I won't be allowed to choose.  They really have to fix this!!!!

Agreed! It's super frustrating. I gave up yesterday when trying to list in the new page and went back to the old one.

Looks like it has some bugs in it needing to be fixed before the new listing form becomes live

Been using the new listing format since it started. Now I find the old one to be awkward. lol. 
I used to have some lagging issues at times with my old Windows laptop but since I went Strictly APPLE I have no issues at all.

They are getting rid of the old form where it doesn't lag when typing in a text box, I even tried copy and pasting and that too lags. Because the pictures are on my phone I must use mobile device to make listing. I wonder if there is a setting we need to change in mobile device or installing a new java or something because they getting rid of the form that works on the 24th

You don't have to use a phone to make a listing.  I take photos with my phone and complete the listings with my laptop by using a USB cord and attaching the two to transfer images.

Not just you. I've also got a serious cursor lag, and it backspacing spaces, when adding alt text. It's driving me crazy!
