Account suspended over listing fees from September

Just a heads up in case you experience this -- I received an e-mail this morning saying my account privileges had been suspended because the August statement had not been paid in full -- what remained was $1.00 in fees for listings made in September. I was told via the chat that the 'system' is not able to differentiate that the $1.00 would actually be part of the following month's statement, that it would be looked into but at this point there was no solution but for me to pay the fees that were not yet due in order to have the suspension removed -- I found that it was not possible to do so, however, since there is no option for paying fees that have not yet become part of a billing statement.

When I went back to the chat I was told that the suspension had been removed.

As I stated to the person at the other end of the chat, one would think account suspensions would be considered a serious step and that there would be safeguards in place to prevent that step being taken by Etsy for something like a violation of their own billing policy that listing fees are payable on the statement of the month in which they're generated.

A couple of hours I could have spent much more productively, thought I'd put this out there, though, in case it happens elsewhere.

Why didn't they just charge it to the card on file?
