I had to close my bank card. Not a way to start my business. I don't know or who to beleive. Anyone else having problems and how to get a clean account?

Re: Account hacked

Your daughter is correct, your shop is fine, it's not suspended.   Unfortunately, you and so many other sellers have been bombarded with scam messages for many months now.  Any legitimate message from Etsy will be in the ''from Etsy'' message folder.  Any other message claiming there's some kind of problem with your shop is a scam.  Put those into your Spam folder.

Did you explain to your bank what happened?  Did your account have any kind of protection that could possibly reimburse you for the lost money?

Re: Account hacked

This is a known scam. I'm sorry this has happened to you. Immediately change all your passwords everywhere, not just on Etsy and at your bank. Scan all your devices for viruses, trojans and keyloggers.

Etsy will never ask for your email address. They already have it. NEVER click links in an email. Instead go to the website it is supposed to be from the way you normally would get there and look for the same notices on your dashboard or in the Message folder marked From Etsy. If they aren't there, too, the message is a scam.

There is a post pinned I think at the top of the Announcements forum about scams that has a lot of links you should go read and familiarize yourself with the many scams going around on Etsy. It is a good idea to also check the forums every day. New variations of these scams are posted here almost every day.

Re: Account hacked

Your Etsy account was not hacked (assuming you didn’t give your log in info the the scammers), you gave scammers your bank info. The messages you received were scammers, they target new shops usually stating something along the lines of you made a sale and the need to verify your info to process it. If you have a legitimate sale it will show on your dashboard. If you search the forms you will find lots of threads about this happening. You said you canceled your card so that’s good and you will need to contact your bank to see what protection you have.

Thank you. Yes, I have only been on a short time. Yes, passwords are changed. We have good protection. Ugh, the dishonesty in people nowadays.

Re: Account hacked

Yes, my bank called fast and, let us know about charges coming from France. I was reimbursed and card closed. Just a pain. I changed passwords to everything. I love my site and working hard to make money. I will be more careful. Thank you

Re: Account hacked

@RockingGemsbySharyl it looks like you have posted your email address. I've reported and asked Etsy to remove that but if you can edit, go in and take that out. We don't need a link to your shop. We can just click your name and Etsy provides a link to your shop for us.

Re: Account hacked

log into your shop using a browser

go to messages

on the left hand side is a "from etsy" folder, if the message isn't in there, as well as the inbox, it is not from eysy.

go to the inbox and mark it as spam.

....

never click on links, don't give your e-mail, and don't give your card details

.....

..... you said your shop is xxxxxxxxxxxx @gmail, that's not your shop, it's your e-mail address
