Hi,
I recently learned that someone hacked my Etsy account and changed my bank number back in November 2022. I haven't been as active on Etsy as sales and product slowed down. However, I just made a sale this past weekend and realized that I do not recognize the account number and cannot change it without verifying. I then looked through my emails and found that it was changed 11/03/22. How can I make sure my funds from the recent sale are not sent to this fraud's account?? I noticed other Etsy sellers have used the forum as a means to escalate a solution, so please assist! I've already changed my password and set up 2 factor authentication.

I'm so sorry you were Hacked. It's unbelievable how easy it is for these idiots to take over people's Shops.
If you haven't done so, contact your bank, as well as run virus scans on all of your devices. And you'll want to report this to the authorities; you are the victim of a cyber crime.
Also, you may wish to "at" Admin ModFabio. You need assistance now (if you're unable to do it, please "at" me and I'll do it for you).
Hope this helps you.
Thanks for the advice! My bank is secure. They hacked my account so long ago, I just didn't notice because I was inactive on Etsy. Also, can you please tag admin! It won't let me do it.
@jennasuarez I will tag Admin for you.
@FabioMcMustache Can you please assist the OP. Hacked Account. Thank You in advance.
hacked accounts are very rare now - scammers tend to get much easier pickings with QR codes conning sellers to giving them money
your account says you are taking a short break, not sure if you did it, or etsy,
but you need to log a call through - help contact us, it takes a couple of weeks to sort out (from experience)
if you change the payment schedule to monthly, and change the date on your billing card to expire today, then etsy won't transfer any funds from today
and set up 2FA
and run virus checkers
Yeah, they hacked it 1.5 years ago when I wasn't as active. I put my shop on vacation mode for time being. Thanks for the call suggestion - but I can't find a phone number, only an email box that I used to submit my complaint to Etsy.
There is no phone number for Etsy. If you find one on google it is a scammer. You can request they call you back. (Sorry I do not have that link).
To change a bank account the hacker must have your old bank account number in order to change to the new(his). This is an Etsy security requirement. So--they HAD to have your BA number. Therefore it was either someone you know--or you have a keystroke logger on your device. If the latter is true they will have any new passwords, etc that you have set. Clean your device with a good virus/malware program. Then change your passwords from a DIFFERENT device if possible. (just to be doubly safe). I would have a professional clean up whatever device I was using to be truthful.
Etsy doesn't publish a phone # anywhere, if you find one online, it's a scam #.
They also don't publish an email address anywhere, same thing if you find one online it's a scam.
Did you go through the help pages to contact Etsy? If so, just keep replying back to that email that you still need help.
Did the hackers add a credit card to your account?
You have to have a valid credit card on file for money to be transferred to a bank.
If it's expired then Etsy won't transfer funds so if those hackers changed it, maybe you can change the expiry date like noted above.
Here's a call back link from the help pages. It may or may not work.
Some topics will show this but most do not.
