Accidentally used new shop name for personal account, can't use on shop account now

Hello, 

I decided to rename my shop. To find out whether the name was taken without accidentally changing the name prematurely through the shop-name-change setting, I made a new personal account and went to the etsy.com/sell page because that page has a name availability checker. I made a new account because it was the only way I could figure out how to get to the name availability checker. 

I found out the name was available and went to the change-shop-name setting and changed the name. But I was still signed in to the new personal account I made. When I realized my mistake I signed in to my shop account and tried to change the name on that account (my original intent) but of course I couldn't because, since another account, my new one, was using the name, I could no longer use it for the shop. 

Should I try to permanently delete the new personal account? I'm not sure if that would allow me to use the name. I tried to contact Etsy but got a reply back that was definitely automatic/copied and pasted from the help page. It didn't address my issue at all. 

As a last resort I could change the name I had in mind but I really love it and want to use it if possible. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thanks so much!

Deleting the other account won't make that name available.  Once a name is used it's gone forever.   You can use that shop to sell.

It won't matter. It won't allow you to use the name in the other shop. Once an etsy shop name has been used it can't ever be used again even if the shop no longer exists. You can either think of a new name or maybe add the word shop or something to the end. Not sure what else to suggest, sorry.

If you delete the new shop, you will permanently lose the name.  Either sell from the new shop with the name you love or reply to the Etsy response with you still need help and keep bugging them through that response and eventually you should get a human.  I remember them fixing similar ahh SHlTS in the past, but who knows now.  Worth a try.

As this Shop us relatively new (with three Listings and 15 Sales) it would not take too much effort to turn the Buyer account into a Seller account. The downside of this i that you would lose the 5 Reviews you have received on this account

Another idea is to add a Country abbreviation (ie: UK/US/AU/CA) top the end of the new name and change it on this Shop.

I think this is the best solution. You get a version of the name you want, and retain all your reviews and don't have to duplicate listings and pay for them
