I have a few of my photo cards listed and am working on listing more but i am having no luck with keywords. I use google keyword tool but I am not getting many suggestions. Anyone have any tips ?
I'm using photo, print, picture, image, art, home decor, wall art, it seems to help because I think often people are looking for something to put on their wall but are not really set on painting/print/photography, so hope this helps :)
I wonder if it would help if we took turns posting a photo and having others make a list of keywords for it. Might be interesting to see what others come up with.
lets try what Pat said, post a photo of one listing then a bunch of us post tag suggestions, after a few posts then folks are allowed to take a turn next. I will start.
I would love to get one sale on this photo, any ideas on tags
Sorry, I didn't mean to jump in. Please continue with Seattle Needle but I think we can just keep putting images up and responding to each other. Just make sure you indicate what print you are keywording for.
Pat did you try architecture (or the name of the architect), landmark, or street photography? Curious what luck you might have had with any of the suggestions made.
Juan Carlos: the space needle photo is from MaxplanationPhotos. But those are good suggestions. Mine is the grass fan. That is the one image I have had the most trouble coming up with keywords on. Shot in Vietnam, so I applied all those words to it: "vietnam" "travel" "Asian". Any suggestions?
Great idea for helping people come up with keywords! It's definitely nice to get another perspective on what potential buyers might search for.
I thought I would let you guys know that I read into the Etsy keyword relevancy handbook from handmadeology, and it's actually not necessary to put Asia and Asian. The Etsy search actually only looks at base words. So it's only really necessary to do that if the adjective version is way different than the base.
BTW, this doesn't apply to anyone's specific listing, but I think if you have a dominant color in the image then it would be worth using it as a keyword.
