Help with thoughts on the MCH Junktion sale

The MCH rummage sale is a fundraiser for the hospital in Blair, NE. It's billed as the worlds largest sale. This year they want to do a junkstock type event in conjunction with the sale but they aren't getting a lot of vendors.. I have my thoughts on why but I would like to see what your thoughts are.. What:
Rummage Junktion is a new endeavor, linking our 57-year-old Rummage Sale with our love of refurbished junk! Rummage Junktion will feature artists that recycle, recreate, or repurpose old junk into really cool new treasures. We are blending together a longstanding hospital fundraiser (the largest in the region!) that sells gently used merchandise and joining the craze of repurposed, funky junk.
Where:
Located at the Washington County Fairgrounds in Arlington, NE, the Rummage Sale encompasses 8 buildings full of stuff (clothing, knick-knacks, dishes, antiques, etc.). The new endeavor, Rummage Junktion, will be held in an open-air barn on the premises. The Washington County Fairgrounds is on Highway 30 less than 10 minutes from Fremont, 15 minutes from Blair and 20 minutes from West Omaha. It’s a beautiful drive in a country setting, close to the metro. We have no entry or parking fees for the public and generally 4,000-7,000 people come through.
Why:
Meeting the needs of the community and raising money for Memorial Community Hospital and Health System has always been our priority. In fact, we normally raise $50,000-$70,000 in four days! However, with increased competition from online swap sites and other discount stores in our community, we wanted to bring a hip new fundraising activity to the annual Rummage Sale to continue raising money. We have been enjoying, loving and selling used merchandise for 57 years, we just thought we’d up the ante this year for our fellow junkers!
If you’ve got cool stuff…we want you!
We’re reaching out to vendors that recreate, repurpose, or recycle items into unique new finds. We also will accept vintage or antique sellers. We have a selection process and each vendor that is selected must have enough merchandise for 3 days. Displays must be unique and artfully done showing your creativity. Space is available in 9’x 15’ sections with a sturdy, covered roof above all spots. Multiple sections may be reserved to fit the needs of your merchandise. There is a concrete walkway throughout the barn, though your spot will be on dirt. There is also convenient drive up doors to unload your stuff.
Additional Information
• Spots are non-refundable; the sale will go on regardless of weather.
• Choice of booth location is given to those that sign up and send in their check first.
• Electricity is also not available for vendors, but there are lights in the building.
• Set up is available Monday, September 15th-Wednesday, September 17th. We will be there setting up the Rummage Sale regardless, however there will only be security provided Wednesday through Friday nights.
• Camping is available at no extra cost
• Real restrooms (no porta-potties!); showers too (if you camp).
• Food on site (lunch); helps to bring a cooler for variety!
• All merchandise needs to be removed from the fairgrounds before Sunday, September, 21st. We highly recommend doing so! Sunday is our bag sale day and it’s crazy. We wouldn’t want your stuff being put into bags by accident.
• Hours:
o Thursday and Friday (September 18th and 19th), 9am-7pm
o Saturday (September 20th), 9am-5pm

Vendors will be selected based on their creativity, design, and display capabilities. A selection committee will get back to you within 3 business days. Deadline to apply is September 5th, 2014.
