My passion is for paper. I love the designs and colors and I took up decoupage as a way to share my passion for paper on the frames and boxes instead of it being in the frames and boxes. The hardest decision is what paper design to put on the frames!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hello hello. Decoupaging all started in the winter of 2011 when my friend introduced it to me with candy wrappers and Mod Podge. Shortly after that, I started to experiment with magazine paper and freestanding letters--and that is when my obsession began. Now I am decoupaging on wooden picture frames, mini canvases, and peace signs. Follow my page and keep up with what's going on at Crazy About Green. :)

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi gang!
This is yet another means I have of making revenue in this horrendous economy. I renovate old furniture and decoupage them with my particular taste in imagery - mythological, magic, Delta Blues, and a variety of other unusual iamges. Often I try to impart some semiotic significance to the use of images. One trunk I did using science fiction imagery was aimed at commenting on how our culture thinks of aliens, the future and the planets in our solar system (love the Martians versus Santa Clause movie ad). Do my best not to use copyrighted material....
I have been particularly drawn to use of decoupage strategically used in a design pattern, with complimentary paint colors. Hopefully there are people out there who share my taste in imagery!
Mind you- I do take commissions!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi everyone --

So excited to find a team that shares my love for all things decoupage. I could spend hours looking at papers, photos and digital images to use. I started with glass trays and plates. I'm currently making wall clocks and have also found a new love for decoupage on canvas. Looking forward to making new friends and sharing tips and tricks about decoupage and having an Etsy shop.

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hello Everyone,
My name is Lizzie and I own my own shop which I opened about a month ago, I mainly make Greeting Cards & Calendars for 2017 which are all unique as I only make 1. I live across the pond in theUK

I have also just started doing Calligraphy and I personalize my cards with names on the front of a card, and if the customer would like a verse or a rhyme or whatever subject my husband will make up a verse or a rhyme etc to go into my cards, but it takes time, so if anyone would like something don;e, please give me plenty of notice of what they want.

Please just send me either a convo or what you would like on your order form, I have red, blue, gold, turquoise or black ink.

I hope we have good communications and we can support each other, as I don't have a lot of cards on yet, and I'm not sure on prices, whether I'm too cheap or to expensive, my layers on my cards are approx. 7 layers on most of my cards.

Please check out my shop, and let me know what you think, I welcome any advice you can give me, especially if you have been doing it a long time.

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi everyone,

I'm Svetlana and I started doing decoupage few years back after I received a vase decorated in this technique as a gift. After that, I bought myself a ''decoupage starter kit'', and practiced on numerous wooden boxes. Lately, I'm trying to apply decoupage on other items and see how different combinations go together. I'm currently working on some wooden signs that have inspirational quotes written on them, and are decorated with decoupage napkins.

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi everyone!

Decoupage fascinated me right from the start. How fast and easy it is to decorate various objects, I was thrilled!

But I often coudn't find exactly the design that I wanted on thin decoupage paper or napkins.
A lot of people use regular printouts on office paper for decoupage. I tried that, too. But in my opinion the results are not as beautiful with office paper printouts than when you use very thin decoupage paper.

And there was my idea: I wanted to make my own thin decoupage paper...

But this is not as easy as it sounds. My goal was to have a real thin decoupage paper. It should be soft and pliable and should easily bend around corners without too many wrinkles.
And for my decoupage projects with beautiful natural wood I wanted a paper that would leave the woodgrain still visible after decorating. So I was looking for a paper, that would achieve that. Additionally I wanted an individual paper with my own pictures and texts.
You see: Lot's of challenges :-)

So I did a lot of experimenting and now I did it!
So I started an Etsy shop with my paper!

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hello. I'm a newbie on etsy :) I love decoupage and other techniques that let me create beautiful things for me and for others, just to make the world around us a more pleasant place to be. Despite the fact that the first item in my etsy shop is all grey, I love colors!
I've always wanted to draw but... no gift here. So decoupage with all those gorgeous patterns on napkins and rice paper is something I've fallen in love with :)
