Hi Suzanna! I know I'm super late to respond to this but I just joined the AZ group.
I'm an Etsy newb myself; over 2/3 of my sales have been here locally rather than online. I'm trying to shift that, but it's a whole new type of marketing - including social media, which I actually dislike so that's a lot to wrap my head around!
I checked out your shop and favorited your bug trio design - super cute! So, I've heard mixed reviews about banner images. A girl I watch on YouTube - Olivia Hayward - runs a very successful Etsy shop and has lots of videos about everything from tags to photography to marketing, etc. She also does Etsy critiques with shop owners' permission, which is super helpful! You should check her out.
One thing she has mixed feelings about is banner images, but honestly it depends on the shopper. Her logic is that you can't see your first few items if you have a banner; for me, if a banner image has bright colors or a cool design, I'll totally keep scrolling to see more. I LOVE your banner! It's great and showcases your own work, so I don't think that's a problem. I like your photography too.
One thing I noticed - I didn't see any tags in your listings. Maybe they're just not visible to me, but make sure you use ALL 13 tags Etsy allows you. If you don't have them, maybe people just aren't finding you. When they search for items similar to yours, yours may not come up in search results. My pet sympathy cards, for instance, include "pet sympathy", "dog Sympathy", "cat sympathy", "pet loss", "rainbow bridge", "paw print card", "embossed card", etc - anything I could think of that's relevant.
Do you have social media? As a small business owner, it makes me cringe but it's necessary. I'm still learning all that. :) Also, consider expanding your background on yourself and your process. People love to read that stuff and often buy the person - not just the product. And check out Olivia Hayward from the ManeMessage Etsy shop on YouTube!
I hope this helps. <3
