August Goals

[#1]

August's theme this month is "Anything August" so I will list lots of different things. I already listed 9 items tonight. So my goal is high... at least 50 items! That'll get me passed 400 total shop listings.
And another goal is to get going on Tumblr. Did start facebook in July but haven't done much with it yet. I will try.

Very nice Nikki! I love Snowbabies!! I have to tell you, it's really hard to tell on the picture of the orange canister what it is. I would zoom out if you can.

Thanks Tanya. I might try to get a new picture a little further away. I should try to remember this when taking photos. My daughter and I tend to do closeups too close.

For picture editing try a simple site like picmonkey.com
You can't get the pictures perfect on there, but it's easy to use.

36 listings already? Blimey, you make me feel lazy and tired! I love browsing your shop - so full of colour and interesting objects. I love how there is always something new to look at no matter how often your shoppers visit, which I guess is what we all should be striving for.

Thanks everyone. I've always shopped garage sales for cheap cloths for all the kids. One day I was hunting for sturdy chairs for them, and someone suggested I look at Etsy. I did and fell in love with the etsy world.
I get lots at thrift stores (there are 12-13 in my city area), garage sales, and estate sales.

Great finds!

Don't be intimidate by Facebook, just post a picture (not a link, put the link in the first comment if you need a link) and tell people why your item is special. Make it personal, and ask people questions they can relate to, and that's all you have to do. You also can use Facebook to create a sense of urgency (where as there's no urgency with my items for example, I can just make it again) but your item, when it's gone, that's it!
I have some success with Tumblr, but really, I'm not sure that its worth your energy for exactly the same reason.. when it's gone, that's it. I guess it would still be good to get traffic from it, but I get so annoyed when I see something on Tumblr that I can't buy. Maybe that's just me!
