The "Square"

Just wanted some feedback from anyone who has used the Square to accept credit cards?
Thinking of using it but wanted to hear from those who already have
Thanks
Dee

Re: The "Square"

Sorry Dee. I've never even heard of it until now. Paypal has always been the easiest way for me. I'll check out The Square. Good luck.

I am also thinking about it. The percentage they take is 2.75, a bit high. But there are no other charges at all. And there is no paperwork. I have spoken to a few people that do use it an they all love it. Also there is no sign up fee to get it.

Re: The "Square"

I used it for the first time this weekend. After a software upgrade all cards swiped just fine. People enjoyed signing with their finger. It sends you an email to show that each transaction has been processed. Plus you can email them a reciept if they wish. None of my customers wanted that option.

The 2.75% is about the same for all other credit card processors and for my occasional use not having to worry about if I paid my yearly fee or not it works out great. They deposit any total amount under $1000 per week immediaetly and anything over that amount you have to wait 30 days from the transaction. I can make due with waiting that long for the money over 1000, probably means I had a really good show. It is also nice that they do not limit the size of the transactions. Some cc places limit you to 500 depending on what you sell that can be an issue quickly.

Re: The "Square"

Hi - I just joined this team and wanted to chime in. I just got an Android phone as my cell contract was up. Ordered the Square weeks earlier (you request it online from Squareup.com) and did a lot of research. The benefit of having square is that you get immediate approval of someone's credit card rather than waiting to get home and submit your CC transactions. Also takes less time than a phone call. And customers can receive a receipt from you via email or even Text!! AND you can take a photo of what they buy so it has numerous benefits. Money goes into your account within a few days. Can't beat it!
