Tagging Pottery

I'm looking for some ideas on tagging pottery. I hate the boring old stickers, but have trouble hanging a tag on items that do not have a handle or lid. How do you tag your pottery for sales?

Boring old stickers. =P

Some items like my banks and birdhouses I have framed signs with the prices but I'm curious how others handle this issue.

Re: Tagging Pottery

I make a little sign to sit next to the pot and a sticker on the base to make it extra clear. If potential purchasers can see the prices straight away they feel more comfortable.

Yes....boring old stickers over here too.

This blog post from Good Elephant Pottery about her tags might interest you:

She uses wire or glue dots to attach tags to all pots.

Re: Tagging Pottery

boring old stickers, but it works and I print the price on the computer which looks more professional. Use Avery stickers and download the template. I make templates with each sheet having one price, like a page for $15 or one for $20. Then I print out one page at a time and put them back in the avery box and they are there when i need them

Re: Tagging Pottery

Hmmm. I like Joyce's idea of having them all printed out nice and neat.

However, I have the price and a very, very brief description on the stickers as well so when I make a sale I pull the sticker off and stick it into my notebook to help me keep track of sales and inventory. I do a lot of OOAK and this has worked so far. But my handwriting isn't the best so I'm gonna have to figure a way to fit both or just use bigger stickers.

Re: Tagging Pottery

barbaradonovan I have read that blog before and love the tags. I just hate it when they fall off and then have items sitting there without info. There has to be a better way...
I even thought about a clear sticker placed on the bottom. but then every item is being picked up which could lead to more breakage....frustrating!
