What is the best printer to use for matte sticker paper?

Hi there,

I've been using a large laser printer at a local print shop to print my stickers. I use a matte sticker paper to print on. Some of my stickers are scans of drawings. I have purchased a really good laser printer, but I get slight banding on the drawn images and they look washed out. I was thinking of getting an inkjet printer to get better quality, but I am worried about the images looking good on the matte sticker paper. I don't want the ink sinking into the paper and looking blurry. The laser printer has the gloss finish and looks great on matte sticker paper.

Does anyone use an inkjet printer to create their stickers on matte paper? What were your results and what printer do you use?

Thanks so much for the help, I've been trying to get this right for weeks and really need some help!

We print ours using a commercial latex printing press. It can print on glossy, matte, clear, then we contour cut on digital plotters. What sort of stickers are you printing?
