scratching with layers

Hi all,

I'm new to all this and after a bit of advice from all you experts! I'm finding when I layer stamping blanks (i.e a small heart on top of a large heart for a necklace) that the small heart is leaving scratches on the large heart and I'm also finding the same with birthstone drops- they are leaving a scratch where they sit on the jewellery. Does anyone else find this? Do you have any tips? Many thanks for your time.

Re: scratching with layers

Leaving them shiny the scratches show up more than if you were to give them a matte finish. I only do matte finishing because of this:)

I also found that stainless scratches easily. How do I make a matte finish? Thanks

Re: scratching with layers

You can use a sanding sponge to give a brushed finish. You can get them at any store that carries home improvement stuff. I use a nail buffing block.
