Help?

Hi guys, i have been trying to find something for a while now and i never thought that i might be able to post in here. Im trying to find a particular font in the metal stamps.. i have been searching for a while now with no luck, i thought it might of been a custom set but ive seen too many like it so i just thought id save any more hassle and who better to ask than a handful of awesome stampers.

I didnt know if i was allowed to post links to someone elses piece, so just let me know if im doing a big no-no in the craft world haha.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Help?

I'm not sure off the top of my head..I would have to do a search. You could ask the seller...?

Re: Help?

I wouldn't ask the seller....that's a custom set from infinity, if you look at their stock fonts, I believe its there. I have only seen a couple of sellers with that font. Its probably about $500 - $600 for both upper and lowercase

Re: Help?

I just checked and its $360 for each set of upper or lower. For that money you could order a unique font for yourself so your items can be more original and if your spending that much, do not use them on stainless steel

Re: Help?

Yeah i wouldnt be using them on stainless steel if i did happen to spend that on them. I have been using just the cheap block set on the stainless and they are already dulling.

Thanks for that 3sweetpeas x

Re: Help?

I guess I better preface my comment with, my mother always told me "I had more money than brains" haha

I have been using Infinity's uppercase Designer set ($210.00) infinitystamps.com/oscommerce/product_info.php?products_id=163 for almost 2 years and they still are making a very nice impression, no signs of wear yet. For the most part I believe in the old adage "you get what you pay for." With the infinity stamps it's not only the quality of the hardening process but also the sharpness and angle of the imprint the stamp is made at. As I recall I was told that the stamps should be good for about 4000-5000 impressions when solely used on stainless, 8000 otherwise. You can discuss that with Infinity before ordering your stamps.

Bottom-line, lower initial stamp investment does not necessarily mean best overall cost effectiveness or value.

Well that's my 2 cents :-)

Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend!

Re: Help?

3 christmases ago, I was using my designer set on stainless (thick stainless hardware washers) and before I knew it, the stamps were pitting on me....they may be ok on your stainless blanks though, I will test it out to see but now I only use my cheap block set on stainless and I go through 3 sets a year because they get ruined. I'm thinking the 22g stainless washers may be ok with my expensive stamps though...can't wait to try but still need to find a durable way to oxidize stainless....still looking

Re: Help?

I should say, that was my first super busy holiday for sales and was stamping tons and tons of pieces when I saw the pitting in the stamps

Re: Help?

I feel your *ouch* 3sweetpeas as I learned some expensive lessons myself with the stamps vs steel. Stamping, I may have to bite the bullet one day and order an expensive set from Infinity! I've always salivated over their stamp set!
