Re: Credit card processing

I recently signed up for this as well. Just got my little reader in the mail a few days ago. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but from what I've played around with so far, I think it could be a great alternative to paypal.....especially at Fairs and such.

h. Comes with a sticker showing you accept CC's with the Squareup logo. No monthly fees and commitment sounds great for random sales!! The percent they take isn't too bad...especially when you're not having to pay etsy AND paypal fees!!!!

Oh, and I use it on iPhone and Droid.

Re: Credit card processing

I occasionally do shows too and so need to be able to accept CC's. Back in the dark ages when I got my first merchant account I was provided a knuckle buster and only paid a fixed %, no transactions fees (we have to pay each time for the privilege of giving a percentage of our profit? REALLY???) and no monthly statement fee. Could you imagine our customers reaction if we told them there was an invoice fee? I'm still just as stupefied to this day by all those fees as I was when I was first told they would be added to my account expenses. OK I'll get off my soap box now :)

So glad to see Square come along. I hope they give the other processors a run for their money and don't decide to start adding all those annoying additional fees in the future after they have a big market share, time will tell.
