First Sale Help

Hey wonderful beautiful team people! I am having some trouble getting my first sale. I ran a promo for Memorial Day for 30 percent off that is now over, and I have a free shipping coupon off 50 dollars for domestic sales. I know I am stuck in the vicious cycle of people want to see reviews to purchase/you need someone to purchase to get reviews. I even started a Facebook page, and I have been working hard on it and my etsy shop. I guess what I am asking is... What helped you to land your first sale?

I had a friend who wanted to purchase something from me who lived across the nation. I told her I would pay the shipping if she would purchase off here and give me a good review. But it took about another month before I got my real first sale from someone not a friend ;.) Hope that helps.

I had a shop on ebay and built up my clientelle before opening this shop. Also, I did ALOT of promoting by joining teams and favoriting others items to get my shop noticed.
It is alot of hard work, but it pays off in the long run. And ALWAYS do your best to get great pictures. This really helps. Ive spent alot on manniquins etc, but it has made my pictures and products look so much better. So no harm in spending now to get a good return later!

Hm... Sometimes if you ask another shop owner that has no sales to make a purchase for the same amount from each other, you kill two birds with one stone! Each gets a sale, no one loses money (except shipping cost) and you rate each others items. But personally, I used a family member for my first Etsy sale and I offered business cards (printed on my home computer) and placed them at stores in my area. Also, when you get your first sale, send them a thank you coupon code and/or a friends and family code. I have both. A return customer coupon for 15% off a future purchase and a 10% off friends and family coupon code. Frankly I am attempting to push pull and drag customers to my store. Lol
