The first thing I wanted to share about pinterest was image sizes.

You'll notice, vertical pins take up more space and show up larger than horizontal ones. It's just the way pinterest is formatted.

Something I recently learned is that if you upload one vertical image to your Etsy listing, you can then pin it with your browser button.

I have an article I wrote on SEO that includes a sample image of how the different sizes images pin:

another tip- the ideal pin size i use is 735 x 1102 pixels

Here is a link to the Etsy article on Pinterest:

They talk about creating boards that tell a story and showcase your shop's taste.

You'll want to tailor your profile page to your target audience. What else do they like? What kind of things will draw them in? Pin other things related to your work as well. It helps having a separate business page and personal page.

One of the most important ways to get followers in any platform is to interact. Repin, Comment and follow other people. When you do more than one, they are sure to notice you in their activity feed and may follow back!

I found a new article on pinterest that I thought was good enough to share:
http://www.sarahtitus.com/2015/01/23/9-reasons-you-should-be-deleting-your-pins-pinterest/

Basically, it talks about how the more pins you have with no repins the less important the pinterest algorithm thinks your pins are, so the less likely it is to show them to someone else.

What this means:
It's important to go through old pins and delete them! Have you pinned the same thing multiple times? Remove old pins or keep the most successful ones.

This goes for our group board too! If we want it to be relevant to pinterest we either have to remove old pins that are not performing or repin content from each other to bump the numbers. =)
