White vs "Handmade" Background

Hi! I have always been indecisive about my backgrounds because I see that several different types have worked for so many different successful Etsy sellers.

It would be super helpful to hear from someone that's not myself. :)

Do you prefer an all white background like this:

Or a "handmade" background that shows a bit of personal touch:

I have been trying to convert them to all "handmade" backgrounds but I'm second guessing myself *again*.

I like the handmade backround I think it picks up the colors better.

Re: White vs "Handmade" Background

The white ones deffinitely to me work better. I can use the items in more treasuries that way.

Re: White vs "Handmade" Background

I like the clean look of the white background, but I always feel its missing something. I have troubles with backgrounds myself. Like the white bg makes it easy to really see the item, but then you loose a sense of dimension. The hand or other items i think make it easier to know about what size it is.

I wish i could find a nice "something" to use as bg :)

Re: White vs "Handmade" Background

I like the handmade "artsy" back ground better. Although white is very effective and clean looking, a nice handmade background gives the impression that that item was hand made and a nice quality item. Sometimes a plain white background can seem to simple or "factory" to me. Again it depends on the item. :)

Re: White vs "Handmade" Background

Thank you for the opinions! I'm still a bit conflicted but maybe I will just have some with white and some with the "handmade" bg in my shop.

I would love to hear more opinions from others because anything is helpful.

Never really thought about the hand, though I can see it is a great image to showcase the size of the item to get a visual.
