New shop trying to increase sales :) Need some tips :)

Hi! First off, thank you for looking at my question! I opened my Etsy shop this February and I have been adding items since. I am just wondering if anyone can look at my shop and tell me what I can do differently to increase sales. I was really hoping my shop could help me pay for my school but so far I haven't had many sales. I do have some things I am working on now to list and work on things every chance I can. I would love some input and some help to increase my sales so I can continue with my shop. Right now I am buying things to make my items and am not getting a return :( Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Well you're definitely doing a good job with a well stocked shop and lots of variety. Are you paying for ads? If not, I suggest you do so, because it really saves a lot of the time of self advertising....plus it's a lot more effective.I suggest shortening the titles on a lot of your products, it's kind of difficult to read what they are.For example, maybe 2 Reusable Dish Cloths would be better instead of 2 Crochet Kitchen Dish Cloths Resusable Paper Towels....people kind of like to look at something once and be able to tell what it is, and it's kind of confusing when people try to fit a lot into the title...that's what the description box is for....your pricing looks alright....however, I don't think the black print fabric in the backgrounds of some of your items pics is really helping them to look good.....you might want to try using a piece of white foam or cardboard, just to the colors off as much as possible and to put the focus on the product......I kind of feel like your items are sharing the spotlight with the fabric pattern, and the focus needs to be on your items, not on anything else....you could always use props or something, but they need to compliment the item itself and not draw too much attention away from the product being sold....So really, I suggest you work on the pictures more, try retaking them and seeing if you can get your items out there...it's better if the pictures are brighter, because even if someone only sees your product in a thread or as one of many, the brightness will be eyecatching, and people are going to want to click more....are you using all of the description tags? Those can help too, since when people search for something that's in one of the tags, your product will pop up then.....oh and your descriptions look very nice too.....yes, I think it's just the pictures and the advertising you need to work on a bit more.Just try to get your products as far out there on Etsy as possible, and I think things will work out. Hope your shop helping to pay for school works out....I can totally understand that :3 I'm hardly a shop expert or anything, but I hope I helped some.

I was wondering about the pictures. I may try to get a white background and retake them. Thank you so much for the info! I do use all the tags and I use the "promote your items" on etsy also. Is that what you are referring to about advertising?
