Looking for critiques :)

Hi all! I'm new to the team, and I'm hoping that you can help me tweak my shop to improve my sales. If anyone has suggestions about pricing, tags, descriptions, titles, etc. I'd love to hear your input! I know my photos can use improvement (I'm working with a sub-par camera right now that does awful things with lighting), but I'm hoping to get a nice new camera for Christmas so photos will be improved soon! Though if anyone has suggestions for backdrops and such, I'm really open to hearing anything.

If looking at my whole shop is overwhelming, feel free to just pick one item or two and let me know what you think. I'm hoping to jump into some of your shops and make suggestions as well! I'm no expert at Etsy shops, but I do shop here a lot and can give some feedback from a buyer's perspective :) If you want me to take a look at your shop, let me know!

Hi, I'm in the same boat (and on the same team!) as Erin. I'm looking for feedback of any kind. I have 18 items listed for sale, but have only had about 130 views since I opened on November 1. Unfortunately, I had to put the shop on vacation for a week when I was out of town, but other than that I've been working on it every day, trying to add at least one item every day if not more. I am busy taking photographs, editing pictures, trying to come up with decent descriptions, but I wonder if I'm going about this the right way. There's so much to learn!!!! I am willing to do it, but would like the encouragement of a few more views and maybe a sale or two to keep me in that "ready to take on the world" frame of mind type enthusiasm. Does anyone else find that sales are slow at first? Is that the usual way it happens? Just a few words about how to go about this from some of you seasoned Etsians would be greatly appreciated!!! I know I need LOTS more inventory, and I have it, but I am trying to do this by myself (take pics, write copy, edit photos) and work a full time job as well. I'm not ready to quit my day job just yet ;-) ....

If anyone would care to take a look at my shop and critique it, I would be very grateful for any feedback you could give as well. Thanks in advance!!

Hey Becky- I can't help too much since we're both asking similar questions, but I can attest that it took me months to get my first sale. It's not the same for all shops, but jewelry in particular is super saturated and it's hard to avoid getting buried in the vast piles of jewelry shops. That being said, it's difficult to rely just on Etsy searches to bring traffic into your shop. I have a facebook page for my shop, and I've taken to announcing sales and posting photos of pieces to help boost traffic. I don't put a ton of time into my shop (I work full-time for a non-profit, so that has first claim to my time), but there are lots of ways to advertise outside of Etsy that will help increase traffic.

By the way, I have to tell you- I absolutely love how you stage your photos. Using the light-colored paper with subtle patterns and textures looks fantastic against your pieces. The other little props in your photos really help to show where you're getting inspiration from, so keep at it! I also like how professional and friendly your shop policies sound.
