Photoediting listings to remove background- Thoughts?

Hi everyone!

i'm trying out something new with my photo's. I removed the background in a photo editing software. My photos were pretty horrible to begin with, but I'm curious what everyone thinks.

Do you guys associate photoshop editing with feeling uncomfortable buying online?

It doesn't bother me, but I think I actually prefer the natural, "real" background you have in the other images. The editing doesn't bother me as a potential buyer, but visually I find it unnecessary. And I don't really find your photos to be horrible in the first place. I think there is definitely room for improvement, but isn't there always? :)

I prefer the real backgrounds, with their nuances and textures. They give the picture depth and more of a feeling of "shopping" (for me!).

On the other hand, you have done a good job editing - and there are even more possibilities to play around with in a photo editor.

Good work! What editor are you using?

I like your well lit photos, though for me, a change of the white ground to another shade once in a while breaks up the slight "sameness" of the page.
I like your edited images and for clothes it's fab because you can include a detail on the same page which might just catch the eye.
I use Photoshop CS5 for all sorts of uses. There are some editing functions in Pacassa but you need to remember to save the changes!

Hi Paige,

I think the white background gives your items a more professional look. I chose the same option for myself and think its works better that way.

Your shop has uniformity now, which i like. It looks clean and elegant at the same time.

Well done on your photo editing skills.

Which program do you use?

I use GIMP, which i love. But getting to know the program and getting a hang of the process of editing was a headache. Im glad i stuck at it though as the feedback has been positive.
