On my way but still trying to improve!

I have been open since April 2015 and I am starting to pick up on sales but looking for some honest critiques on my shop. Prices? Pics? Titles? Tags? Descripts? TIA! Jennifer

hi jennifer,

your jewellery is lovely and photography looks good, however the photographs of your beautiful artwork does not so it any justice the photos don't really pop and this is a big area in need of improvement.

make sure to promote on instagram and use photo marketing instragam is a powerful tool and can portray your brand to the target customer. so your images need to be visually strong as the buyer cannot see/ touch it in person

also add some photo the about page most people really love to see the behind the scenes of a shop/ brand their buying into i could make the diffrence between getting a sale or not.

good luck

Re: On my way but still trying to improve!

Hi Jennifer,
Your artwork is lovely as well as your bracelets. :) I did notice a few things that you may want to take into consideration. I would love to see the canvas art work arranged on the wall perhaps with something else to give me a perspective of size - when I was looking through your listings, I thought that this one did have it arranged, https://www.etsy.com/listing/232927255/poppy-painting-poppy-flower-painting-red?ref=shop_home_active...
in the 4th photo, but then I realized that it was a blown up picture of the artwork and was not what was being shipped...
maybe consider shooting them on a white wall, leaving a little white space around them for the first picture, and then in one of the additional pictures show the canvas in an arrangement... or on a stand on the mantle or something like that...

Also, you stated in your policies that you are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged merchandise... when in reality you are, and would lose a case if one was brought against you... you can purchase insurance for your customers to protect yourself in the event that the items are lost, stolen or damaged... consider adding this cost to your shipping charges and then let your customers know that they are protected when shopping with you. If you ship by U.S. Priority mail, insurance is already included... be sure to state in your policies that if an item is damaged, they need to take photos of the damage and packaging, as this will be required to process the insurance claim.
Wishing the best of luck to you!

Hi Jennifer, you have a great artwork :)
As DJ wrote above one of my concerns about buying in your shop was the policies... I would improve a bit the photography as well and the tags
Hope that helps:)

Re: On my way but still trying to improve!

Hi Jennifer:

I also agree with the above suggestions. I would add a couple of my own:

You might want to consider separating your items into two different shops. The jewelry in one, and the paintings in another. Maybe it's just me, but it always seems kind of jarring to have two very different items in one store. It's easy to cross promote each shop with the other.

I am also getting started with Instagram. I find that if I want more viewers, I have to post things other than my shop items, as people just think of it as spam. Something cute or funny, not too personal or possibly embarrassing. The hardest part is remembering to post often enough!

Good luck with your shop and I love your doggy!!
Best Wishes,
Jan
