Re: Help please

Lindsay,
Very cute items! At first glace, your titles need some fluffing. Right now the only terms that will bring up your whale are "crochet" "whale" "crochet whale". If I were searching for a whale toy for my son, I'd search "baby boy whale toy". I think you could words like "Nautical", "Sea Creature", "Baby boy", "Handmade plush toy","Gray", "Stuffed". Also use those tags!! The tags are supposed to be the most important terms from your title.

Remember that you're not the only person selling crochet whlales...what makes yours different than the rest, tell people why they should select your yours, what makes it a $25 value, what kind of yarn did you use, what color palette would it look good with, etc.

Here's a listing that was #1 in my search when I searched "baby boy whale toy". Please do NOT copy this listing...but look at their title, description, and tags for ideas on how many words and the style of phrases you could use: https://www.etsy.com/listing/226490158/baby-boy-gift-stuffed-whale-whale?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_s...

Hope that helps :) After you tweek the titles and tags, post back on this thread if you'd like feedback on the changes you've made

Also, I see best sales in my shop when I have a minimum of 25 listings. (think of it as portals into your shop...the more listings you have, the more opportunities you have for people to find you)

Re: Help please

Thank you for the ideas. I will definitely take a look at the whale listing and implement some of those ideas!

Re: Help please

Hi,

I just love the adorable and very colorful items, that you have in your shop!

As a new seller myself, of 7 months now, I have learned quite a bit about how the ETSY search system works. Much of my information has been obtained through the ETSY forum's "Discussion" section:

https://www.etsy.com/forums/?ref=ftr

There, you can also access a "Promote" section, which is as it sounds - a great place to promote your items and as much or as little as you want!

The ETSY "SEO" system is a great key phrase to Google and it will explain how the use of phrases (not 1 or 2 word increments) is helpful in creating MORE traffic to your shop; basically those same "phrases" within your item's title should be reflected in the item's TAG phrase section, as seen at the very bottom of each listing.

When I first started out, I would create "Treasuries" and that is also a great way to be seen, found, and promoted by fellow sellers!

Good luck to you!
