With that said, most of them have not yet had a sale.

I am an Etsy newbie. I haven't been open on Etsy for a year yet. I am still working on learning how to take pictures and do postings. I have never touched a camera before unless it was a scuba diving camera ... I just use my cell phone because I am photographically illiterate ... I am also non-techno savvy. I have never had even a Facebook page in my life.

I have had some sales and am very happy. I have to float before I can swim. I have always sold out of a studio before. I think the key could be have fun, be yourself , and keep working on your shop. If I agonize about not being as fantastic as all you other Artisans I will ruin my chi. I can only hope to one day be as glorious as all of you.

I'm just getting started and don't have anything yet that increases my sales but joined this group to try to promote my shop - I make beautiful hair barrettes out of sea glass & shells/whatnots that I find myself on the beach. I've had great reviews in my craft shows and people are amazed how nice they are in person and hope to share my treasures with the world!

What I've learnt from my years on Etsy is this: photos and appearance. If I would have hired a professional photographer to set up my banner, product photography, designed my page, logo and worked my branding.....I could've doubled my sales, I believe. I could still.
I have a special, rare, unique, product and I am not marketing it to it's full potential.
I have watched shops, with massive record-breaking success, sell inferior products simply because their packaging, pictures, and perception are expressed creatively! Argh! I'd love to deliver a product that keeps it's promise!
Let's do this!

I just came aross this group and am glad I did. I make genuine and cultured sea glass bowls, as well as seashell and oyster shell bowls. I set my promotions on $1.00 per day. We also took a variety of our bowls to the beach, and photographed them on the sand, in front of the ocean waves.

Our sales jumped right after that, and our views have been higher each day since then. Some of our sales are from, or because of repeat buyers, but I really think the new ones are because of these bowls being photographed on the beach itself. It was not even a very sunny day at the beach, but I can't come up with any other explanation. I just hope it continues. I also changed our banner to a group shot of the bowls on the beach, with the waves in the background.

Hello Svetlana!
Firstly, let me just say that you have some beautiful items in your shop! I love the idea of the shell toppers! The first thing that I would say is that the first picture of an item has to really grab the viewer and make them want to click on your item. There was one photo on your first page that really jumped out at me for all the right reasons - and that was the Tigrina shell - and you know why, I bet; the background is clean and uncluttered and I can really see the item well. Plain white backgrounds do not have to be seen as clinical, especially when the items are fun and colorful as yours are. I highly recommend photographing on a plain background and then using fotofuze (it's free!) to get it white. If you don't like that look, perhaps picture them on a neutral, plain background, no shadows and no props - save the fancy stuff for pictures 2 and onward!

Secondly, some of the titles need work. Try to pick keyword at the start that describe your item in a way that a buyer would search, write it in a natural way as it would be spoken without repeating many words, and not too long - this is what they advise now for the new Al search algorithm (and I have a lot of work to do in my own shops for this!) For instance, I'm not sure how many would search for "purple bubble seashell orb" although they may search for "purple seashell decoration".
Some of the items I looked at - like the purple orb - did not have measurements, nor a picture of the item in a hand / against a ruler for size comparison, and those two things really help a customer. I feel that the more questions a customer has answered within the description and the pictures, the more comfortable they'll feel, and the more likely they are to purchase. Not everyone has the time to send a convo and wait for a response!
A lot of your listings DO have measurements, descriptions and reasonable titles, so you are well on your way, so it'll be a case of going through each one and double checking.
And then of course there is getting your items out there; That I know less about and am not as good at, in this shop or my jewelry one!
