Critique please!

I am excited to hear about improvements that I can make to my shop and I hope I can provide good ones for those of you who critique me as well :)

Re: Critique please!

Hi Trista,

I know nothing about natural bath and body products, but I hope i can help out.

Your policies single out the States in terms of shipping times, it might be a good idea to extend that to all international locations since you ship everywhere. Also it's a good idea to accept refunds even if you limit it to a certain amount of time, it gives the buyer more confidence in shopping with you.

Using this listing as an example: http://www.etsy.com/listing/122879028/lavender-healing-balm?
Your title is not descriptive enough, maybe mention the size and that it's a salve. Your descriptions are way too long and there is a lot of information on there that doesn't relate to this listing. The information on this product's use is half way through the description, when it should be one of the first few things you read.
Double check your tags, I saw the word "salve" repeated and try to use 2-3 words in each tag if you can.
The picture in this listing is really nice and the lavender plant in there is very appealing to the eye.

That's all I can think of, I hope you get more feedback from someone who is more familiar with homemade B&B

Thank you Jana! You might not know much about natural bath and body stuff but you sure know your way around a listing! I didn't even realize that I could use more than one word in a tag. Good to know.

Re: Critique please!

I also don't know anything about your products but here goes... Your weights are in grams which means exactly nothing to the average American buyer. You might consider adding ounces too. Also for your soaps, you might consider adding dimensions so that people can get a sense of what they are getting. In centemeters and inches both. Maybe add a shot with a ruler. Your photography is beutifull. I think the thing that's killing you is postage. I think it was $9 to the U.S.? Ouch! I realize you're in New Zealand, and I doubt that you are making any money off of postage, but I think that's what's holding back your sales. I can't advise you on tags/seo since I'm horrible at that myself. Overall though, your site has a lovely, cohesive look. I like all of the information you have in your product description, just make sure that you are using a kind of journalistic approach to writing them. By that I mean, make sure that the most important information should go first (What is the product, what does it do? how do you use it? what are the benefits? how much do you get? what is in it? what does it smell like?), with the background information on the ingredients going last.

Re: Critique please!

Thank you for the feedback. I never really considered posting measurement but maybe I will give it a try.

Yeah nothing I can do about shipping. Its not so bad when someone buys more than 2 items but shipping is expensive. I am trying to get more kiwis into my store and I am now working a farmer's market so I can direct people here and hopefully they will tell their friends.
