question on selling

I'm fairly new to selling on Etsy and I have a question. When you sale an item your charged a fee and it comes out of your money but on your monthly statement your charged the same price and pay it again. Can someone explain how this works for me?? Thanks

Re: question on selling

When an item sells, you are charged a percentage of the price which is added to your monthly bill. If the customer used paypal, they deduct a processing fee before you get your money. If the customer used direct checkout, etsy deducts a payment processing fee. If you have more than 1 available, etsy charges you a 20cent relisting fee to get it back up for sale again.
