Hello. I am new to selling sewing items, and I am a bit afraid about creating a piece no one can wear because of the size. I get many compliments on the items I make, but it's easy to make things for myself, not other people! I like making reversible thigh to knee length coats. There is a art store that accepts crafter's things, and I would love to make several coats and have them displayed with hopes of finding a buyer. However, I am afraid about making a size that people can actually wear! I am not skinny but I'm not a size 16 either; however, I know this doesn't apply to everyone. Can someone give me advice about making one of a kind items and what sizes and other applications for the coat (shoulder width, ect) I need to concentrate on? We get a lot of tourists in our downtown if that helps. Let me know.
I was also thinking of making labels as well. What I was planning on doing for my first submission to the store was two-four coats with a season theme.
I just want to sew items people will be willing to buy, and that means getting sizes people will actually be able to wear! Thanks for any help you can give me.
