Introductions

My name is Nancy Eichorn and I have enjoyed sewing for many years and have added embroidery to my list of things I enjoy. I have grandchildren that are the center of my world, but I always have my sewing and embroidery when I cant be with them. I love to be creative and have lots of ideas some of which are in my shop. I have tried to think of a specialty but I like to do so much, its hard to come up with one special thing so I like to think they are all special.
Please enjoy all the tips from especially the other team leader. She has great ideas.. I have known her for a long time and I like to think we make a good team. I started out helping her and now she helps me.
Feel free to add any comments. We are open to anything and we look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Re: Introductions

My name is Adrienne and I live in Upstate New York. I'm 28 years old and I have three sons who are a real handful. My boyfriend also has a son, so that makes 4 boys worth of stinky socks in my poor, overused washing machine.
I've been sewing since I was about 18 and I enjoy sewing anything, but my favorites are costumes and kids clothing. Btw, that's muh friend Nancy up there lol

Re: Introductions

My name is Heather, and I have been sewing since I was five. Obviously my sewing at that point had huge loose stitches, but I got better at it^^ My first project was a doll shirt, and I resewed that thing a dozen times before my grandmother said it was good enough. I now do just about everything crafty. Except for knitting.... my squares always end up triangle-y!

Re: Introductions

Thanks! It's inspired by formal hair ornaments worn in Japan. However, I sew mine together as opposed to gluing them. It takes longer, but they're much sturdier. You could probably throw them in the washer on delicate; try that with glue^^

Re: Introductions

Welcome Karen! Glad you joined us :) I'm SO loving those chickens! They would look super cute as a decoration! Could you use them as a fancy pincushion as well? Gosh, I am so thrilled with all our team members. We have some really great quality shops here!

Re: Introductions

Hi Adrienne
Thank you for a lovely welcome and I'm thrilled you love my chickens. I never thought about them being pin cushions, but what a great idea x
Can I ask - how do I add a picture to a thread or topic ?
Thank you again for a lovely welcome.

Re: Introductions

You an add pictures like I did by just copy and pasting the url of the item you want to add. You can't post pictures outside of Etsy, I don't think they allow it. :/

Re: Introductions

And while those chickens would work as picushions I might feel sorta bad poking pins into something so cute. I'd feel like I was doing voodoo on some poor squaker somewhere lol But if I was you, I would put "pincushion" and "pin cushion" in my tags and renew the item just to see what happens. You aren't using all your tags anyways, so it couldn't hurt. If you need help with seo stuff I will do my best. I'm pretty good at that stuff, and helping people sell is my goal here :)

Re: Introductions

Hi Adrienne
I thought I could only put tags - for what the item was - because I never thought of them as pin cushions, I would not have thought of adding that as a tag - I'm still learning about tags - think I need to give them a bit more thought.
I really appreciate your advice.
Bit cheeky I know - but I thought I'd let you know that I've added another chicken tonight.

Re: Introductions

Its fun to get to know people through their crafts. My problem is I like so many things I dont have a specialty and not alot of time to add as much as I want to. When I first got my new machine I thought what am I going to do with this. Maybe I shouldnt of wasted my money but I always have something going on. I do alot for people on the outside but I would love do better in my shop. I will just keep plugging away.

Re: Introductions

Hi I'm Kristine,
I have been sewing since I was 10. I work a full time (non-sewing job) and run my business in the evening and weekends. I always knew that I wanted to design and sew clothing. I hope that one day I can make this my full time job. Thanks for letting me be apart of this team. It looks like there are some great threads already started.

Re: Introductions

Hi I'm Laura,

I just took up sewing in 2007. I started making girls clothing and an applique here and there. Now I make tote bags I have been on Etsy since 2008 but just started selling on Etsy in March 2012.

Re: Introductions

Hello everyone! Although I've had my shop open for a while now, I'm new to the whole Etsy Teams thing. I'm a sewer and my mother (Barbara) is a quilter. I make all sorts of home essentials like pillow covers, aprons, pot holders, hanging kitchen towels, etc. Here's a few things from my shop:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/215346202/cat-apron-w-pawprint-contrast?ref=shop_home_feat_2

https://www.etsy.com/listing/215444601/quilted-insulated-pot-holder-set?ref=shop_home_active_10

https://www.etsy.com/listing/199850736/blue-paisley-pillow-cover?ref=shop_home_active_12

https://www.etsy.com/listing/215333442/hanging-kitchen-towel?ref=shop_home_active_13

I have a thing for cats and anything blue -- so a lot of my work ends up being done in cat fabrics and fabrics in different shades of blue, but I try to branch out for the sake of my customers who are not cat people and like other colors. :]

Looking forward to seeing all the different things you all make!
Ashley

Re: Introductions

Hi! I’m Marlies. I’m 23 years old and I study informatics. I love sewing (obviously) and all sorts of crafts. Last month I’ve opened my first Etsy shop where I sell some of my items. Right now my shop mostly focuses on baby and children items, but I’m planning to expand my shop as soon as possible.
